Pontiac Repair: HUD Display, pontiac grand prix, grand prix 3

QUESTION: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8l engine.  The heads up display gets dimmer and dimmer as I drive.  In about 10 minutes it will go completely out then work again for a little while the next day.  Any Ideas?

It is PROBABALLY the HUD module.
The power and grounds should be checked. If they check out OK Thats what I would suspect.

QUESTION: Thanks for your input.  Is this something that I could do my self?  I am handy but not a mechanic.  Or should I take it to a dealer.  Estimated dealer repair cost?  thanks

Hi
It would involve removing the upper trim. (It just snaps in.)
It is mounted directly under that.
Price of part only is between $400-500 ( I was quoted $450.66)
I think you should be able to handle it.... of course I do not know your ability.
