Pontiac Repair: 1985 fiero 4cyl., iron duke, quad 4

helo; i just bought a 1985 SE iron duke. the motor is bad and everyone says to switch it..it is a dog. i am not looking for a race car but i would like to be able to jump on it occ. i was told a quad 4 was good. any thoughts on the easiest solution as far as install? is a 6cyl. a better way? just trying to get some opinions...thanks alot...Craig

well not knowing what an iron duke is  this is my advice to you, on modern vehicle with the computer controll s and wiring unless you are an expert , engine swapping with anything other than what came out of the vehicle is a nono,, on this application  think of this.. exhausts mods, cooling mods, wiring mods and the important hook up with the tarnsaxle ass and its computer controlled shifting, i suggest you replace the motor with what was in there and be money and dependabilty ahead iron duke or not
