Pontiac Repair: EGR valve, egr valve

Is a EGR valve part of the engine. If I just got a used engine put into my car shouldn't they have replaced the EGR valve.

Yes it is part of the engine, If some one as taking the valve off before you got the engine, then it should be replace, unless they sold you the engine as is, then they don't have to replace it. If some one is putting the engine in for you, then they should ask you first, before putting the part on.
