Porsche Repair: 1983 porcshe 944 w/1984 engine, air meter, vacume
QuestionBrad, I have an overheating problem with this 944. New thermostate and I'm getting ready to take out the radiator and get it flushed or replaced if need be.If this does'nt solve the problem do you know where else I should look to solve this. Also, it won't pass smog, has a dead spot in the acceleration at the start of acceleration. It has had all of the vacume work done already so I asume thats all good. thanks Brad
AnswerThese cars run hot. The gauge usually gets to almost 3/4 hot then the aux fan should come on and drop the temp to 1/2 way mark. This is normal operation. Make sure the aux fan comes on.
For the failing smog, what is failing
HC, CO's of Nox? Has anyone adjusted the Air Meter?
