Porsche Repair: cooling fans, coolant water, engine coolant

Hi Dave
Can you help me i own a 944 s2 1989 other the last 2 days the fans have kept run even when i have key out and its running down the battery i have changed the relay in the fuse box with a friends this hasn't help im driving it round and pulling relay out to stop fans any ideas

Hi Andy,

There are at east two places to check, right away.  The fans being on/off are influenced by two temperature switches: in the engine coolant (water) and the AC refrigerant (R12).  If either switch is bad it may be telling the fans to keep running when the temp is really normal.
