RV Repair: converter - charger, wire harness, tow vehicle

Question
I have an 81 Viking pup.  I have a bassler converter.  I need to know if this is charging my battery when I am running on shore power?  I plan on wiring my tow vehicle to handle the 12 volts from the wire harness if(when) the trailers battery goes dead, good idea?  Will this charge the battery while I drive?  What setting should the converter be on while i drive? Will this hurt the converter?

Brian, The converter only works when you are plugged into 110 power. Then it charges the battery. As for running a charge wire to do this while driving it is ok to do and yes a good idea, but remember to put a fuse in line for protection. As for what setting to be on what settings are there available to you? If I knew this I can tell you what to do. Thanks, Bill
