RV Repair: Hydro Flame 8535-ll, hydro flame, fan shaft

Question
Started making loud noise off and on when blower comes on? Sounds like a bearing going out. Is it repairable? If so which part? Blower motor or something else?

Hi Jerry.
Your furnace fan motor is going out. An 8500 series uses bushings not bearings for the fan shaft and they don't last long in some cases. Replacement is the answer and its not one you should try yourself. There are a lot of little tricks to removing that motor and not much fun. The motor could run you about $125.00, plus labor which is about an hour to an hour and a half.
