QuestionGary, Is there a way to place direct current to the compressor to identify if it is the compressor or something different? Or maybe a better test way to check the compressor?
The model numer is a Duo Therm Briskair #53212-034 or 035. I believe the only difference is a time delay on the 034 model. They both use the identicle compressor and is wired identicly as well.

Would a run capacitor also do this?

I turn on my ac unit and it cools for approximately 60 seconds and then kicks off. After shutting down for about 10-15 minutes, I try again and only the fan works. If I wait 24-48 hours and try it again, it runs for about 60 seconds and then kicks off.
When this happens, you can here a drain on the generator sort of bogging it down like it was calling for power but yet nothing happens. When it does kick off, the fan motor also kicks off but when you turn it off and turn just the fan on, the fan runs.
I'm stumped, please help if possible. Thanks
Answer -
This sounds like the compressor is locking down and the strain on the generator if from the compressor trying to start. This is typical of a bad compressor.

a capacitor is either bad or it's not, it is possible for a run cap to cause this, and is a fairly inexpensive part to try.

AnswerIn a shop environment, we have used a hermetic analyzer, nick named "annie" wich bypasses all controls, has a momentary push button switch, and a selector for run, which capacitor, etc. yes, it can be done, you could build basically the same thing and run it that way if you are pretty mechanical, seems you are so far.
