Saturn Repair: Cooling fan resistor, gage wire, saturn vue

Can the low speed cooling fan resistor on a Saturn Vue be relocated?  Perhaps somewhere dryer and better suited for an electrical component?

I personally never tried to. But If you have the time it should pose no issues. Be certain to use the same Gage wire as to not change the resistance. But for me instead of going through all that trouble I would rathher just buy one every 3 or 4 years.
