transaxle slips in 2nd gear is this a gear ???? what is the cause do you know where to get parts any help appreciated thanks mike

Most broken part is the shift keys.  Could be a bad gear as broke shift key would cause problems in other gears.  I'm betting it is a combination of both, wore keys and wore 2nd gear.

Simialar repair as your trans is very similar, almost identical, to Peerless trans.
