Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb cover, control knobs, cub cadet

Hi i need to get at the carb on my cub cadet snowblower model#31am53l2596 i cannot get the cover off because of the choke&idle control knobs i am concerned i will break something by trying to pry them off thanks for your help

It is difficult to look up the parts diagram for Canadain products.

Is there a screw holding the chock lever in place, a red plastic kob or is there a "z" bend you can manuever to remove the lever?  Can you attach a picture so I can see what you have.
