QuestionQUESTION: I believe this is a fuel problem as it seems to run for about 1 and a half seconds after starting from a cycle of priming or if I spray carb cleaner/starting fluid through the air intake. The family of the motor is 6BSXS.1901VH. The frame the mower sits on is a Craftsman 917.375520. I have two of these mowers and both have the same exact problem.
There is a gasket behind the plastic air filter/primer bulb assembly which I was told I needed to replace as if it leaks, it will cause my very issue. I replaced the gasket on both and no change was made. Still immediately stalls.
I ended up taking the end piece past the plastic air filter assembly (which held the air intake valve and held the tub of fuel below to see if I could find some other gaskets to replace. I could not find any. Cleaned out every crevice and hole in that part I could find, then reassembled it all. No progress made in getting it running.
This is where I come to you to ask if you know anything that I can do for this particular model to repair it. Due to the fact I have two of them from different sources, I'd imagine the problem with this particular engine is common. These were given to me because the people just got new ones, and I'd like to have some mowers to use if my snapper craps out.
Thanks ahead of time.

ANSWER: Hi Flinix
here is web site for parts
http://www.hammerwall.com/Download_Manual/38147/
is fuel flow good , is float bowl full of fuel and float valve not stuck ?
will it continue to run if keep squirting fuel from a spray bottle into the carb throat ?
if so sounds like this unit still has a fuel delivery problem, i have struck on more than a couple of occasions you need 2 primer gaskets on 1 machine in order for them to prime correctly.
you will see this with air filter off and primer button pressed , a shot of fuel should come out the emulsion tube in the carb venturi.
remove carby completely -check the main jet, it could possibly be restricted / blocked very hard to see unless you were to blow crc and compressed air through it ?
carfully check all air bleeds and jets in same manner with crc and compressed air to verify clear. check the o ring @ the carb flange - remove starter cover - and check the bolts that secure the intake manifold pipe to cyclinder - are they tight , does the end of the intake pipe where the carb o ring sits have a big step on it ? if so could be sucking air there instead of fuel ?
sounds like compression and spark are ok as the unit will run even for a short while
take a look and let me know what you find
cheers hope it helps

QUESTION: I appreciate your input, however, the link you gave me is malicious for a Windows environment. Clicking on it gives me an immediate BLOD (Blue Screen of Death). Due to this, I can not view the material you have tried to give me to help with my problem. If you can send me the parts diagram through a different source, that would be appreciated. With the rest of the information you have given me, I have checked most and confirmed it being not the problem. I will try doubling the gaskets on the back side of the primer bulb air suction tube, though the primer itself is working and throwing fuel into the carb.
Get back to me on the parts manual at your earliest convenience, no rush.
