Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): question, compression check, spark plug

i have a fc 420v kawasaki engain it wont start i checked the core im getting spark i check the gas i got the gas i put gas on the spark plug it didnt crank , that else could i check that it might be the problem?

The thing you need for a engine to run is 1) fuel 2) spark & compression,you may be missing compression part as when a engine spins it needs the compression to propel it to the next stage exhaust.Do a compression check to make sure you have good rings and the valves are operating alright.
