QuestionHi,i am from Greece.I have an old Poulan 306A.I rebuilt it,i changed the piston, the cylinder, the rod,the bearings of the crankshaft and the seals.Unfortunatly,i stuck to the ignition coil.It is obsolete and i can't find anywhere.I want to ask if there is any other ignition coil, from another saw,to fits to my unit.I've seen that many coils are almost the same with mine but i am not an expert,my experience to this stuff is zero,so i don't know if any of them will fits to my saw.
Thanks in advance
AnswerFind an ignition coil that will bolt on and try it...many will work and I doubt you will notice any difference in the saws performance. I have fitted different ignition modules to various equipment brands.
Many ignition modules are made by Phelon. Equipment manufactures usually purchase modules from Phelon and install on their engines.
Is there a small engine repair shop near your location? If so, go ask to see if they have a used one they will sell you or maybe even let you try it out at their shop to make sure it will work.
