Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): RETROFIT CRAFTSMAN SEAT SAFTEY SWITCH, seat safety, safety switch

MY SON IN LAW HAS A 10 YEAR OLD CRAFTSMAN AND DOES NOT HAVE A SEAT SHUTOFF SWITCH. IS THERE A RETROFIT TO PLACE ONE. AT THIS TIME I DO NOT HAVE A MODEL #.

Are you asking how to install a seat safety switch?  If so, there are several methods you could use.

1) Purchase a seat with a switch, I'd recommend looking for a used seat.

2)  Install a switch under the seat by drilling a hole and mounting a switch.  Cheaper but would require more time.

The switch needs to be open when sitting on the mower and closed when off the seat.  Look for a switch that is normally closed (NC).
