Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Mower, cable ends, lawn mower

Question
Lawn mower had to be jumped to start. Now does not have power and won't start. Does not make any noise to start and bought a new battery and still nothing.

Answer
Is the battery connected properly...red to positive, black to negative?

Did you clean the battery posts and cable ends with a wirebrush before connecting the new battery?

Did the new battery require it to be charged before using it?  

Can you still jump start the mower?
