Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): power ratings, weed wacker, hobby boards

QUESTION: hi, can you pls tell the power output in horsepower for
1. 25cc homelite trimmer
2. ryobi idc 520 supreme
3. poulan weedeater gti 16 super

i'm lookn 2 convert one of them into an engine for my rc aiplane that weighs about 10kg

ANSWER: I can't recall any horsepower specs for those engines.  Of the three, when used as a weed wacker, the Homelite seemed to have the most torque.

Did you check the RC hobby message boards to see if someone has some specs?

QUESTION: yes, i did. Most of them used the homelite trimmer engine which produces about 0.8hp. I will appreciate any other suggestions that can help me in my project. thanks

Were any of the hobby boards using the small 4 stroke engine?  They produce way more torque but the down side is they are heavier and do not spin up as quick as the 2 cycles.  Good engie for a large model, like a B52 but may not be suitable for an F-15 model that needs have quick responses.
