Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower: Gas/Oil mistake, oil mixture, new spark
QuestionMy son put 50:1 gas/oil mixture in the snowblower. It a 4 cycle and should have
used gas only. Snowblower was used for about 20 minutes. When I found out
about the mistake, I siphoned out the remaining gas and put clean gas in. Then
ran the snowblower for about 10 minutes. Should I do anything else?
AnswerIt should be fine but you might want to purchase a new spark plug and have on hand in case the old spark plug fouls due to the fuel/oil mix. The engine may smoke a little as it burns the two-cycle mix through the fuel system.
Make sure you check the engine oil level and use the correct 4 cycle snowblower engine oil.
