Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs Engine, safety switches, brake safety
QuestionHi I have a lawnmower with a Briggs engine. The numbers off the engine are 12H802-0652-01 and the code is 96050958. Yesterday my mower run for about 30 seconds then died and now it won't start. I checked for spark and it has all kinds of fire and it's getting fuel and it has compression but it won't run for some reason. Would you know what could be wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is this on a Riding mower? If it is check your safety switches on the equipment. there is 1 for the seat 1 for the brake 1 for the PTO and 1 for the neutral position.Just because it is getting fuel doesn't mean its not a fuel problem,If it starts then shuts down it could e fuel. If it wont start at all your engine make have a short somewhere, you coil maybe going bad. You need to find the safety switches. If this is a push mower than you need to check the safety switch on the handle that you hold in to start the mower that may be bad,you can by-pass this to see if that helps. Also check the engine brake safety switch.
