Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sears weed eater, weed eater, oil mixture
QuestionI bought a sears 80 year anniversary weed eater about 2 years ago. ran strong until this last winter, when i put it away forgetting to drain the fuel/oil mixture. got it out this summer and it would not run, cleaned the carb with carb cleaner.tried to start it. still no luck, jumped the on and off switch with a paper clip. squirted starter fluid into the carb. and it ran for about 30 seconds, died again and not having any luck getting it to refire.what did I do wrong? I hope that i can be fixed.Help me please.
AnswerDid you refill the trimmer with brand new fuel/oil mix? Did you disassemble the carburetor or just spray the outside of the carb with carb cleaner?
What the the trimmer model number? The model number will be on a small sticker, about the size of a business card, and the model number format will be xxx.xxxxx.
Are you familar with priming an engine to get them started?
Let me know.
