Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler 17.5 wont start, john deere l110, spline shaft
Questioni have a kohler 17.5 command on a John Deere L110. Model# CV491S. Ser# 3224809193. It is getting spark and fuel, but will not start. All it does is backfire through the carb when i try to turn it over. ran perfect 4 days ago. today fired once. blew white smoke then wouldn't fire again. please help

Check to see if the flywheel key way is in the correct position in the shaft.
Sounds like it is out of time . The key way and the spline shaft have to hooked up in line with each other. Take of the starter cove look at the fly wheel and make sure that the key way is lined up correctly.
