Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Mowers, craftsman 917, broken wires

at this point I'm at my wits END  but  I have a Craftsman 917.255371  I don't know the drive belt diagram  and some wires are cut how can I find out how to fix both problem's I have I think its a 70's  model  I think   Thank you for any help I can get at this point
