QuestionBriggs Model 100202, type 401020, serial 6205170
Hi, this is a full magnetron replacement of the old part, I double checked and it is installed "this side out".
I gapped it with the thin cardboard that part came in, it's so close it couldn't be closer without toucking the flywheel.
I've completely removed the kill wires to avoid any unknowns there. I don' have a killswitch per se (that I can find). There is a prong/tab on the top of the engine, I pryed that away from the fins to make sure that wasn't stoping the spark.
I still have no visible spark even in total darkness. Am I dealing with anything here other than electrical/ignition? Regardless of fuel delivery, compression, air flow I should be getting spark correct?
Thanks for all your help, this issue is driving me bonkers.

AnswerThere are two possibilities...
One you have a bad coil! I know its new, but it happens..
OR
You have a Bad Flywheel.
In 30 years, I have only seen 1 bad flywheel. Are the magnets on the flywheel strong enough to hold a socket? Did the flywheel get changed perhaps? Is the flywheel key sheared?
I certainly empathize with you...Been there before.. Please let me know what you find out.
