QuestionI have a weedeater trimmer that will start very easily but will not increase in RPMs. I does not stall, it just will not rev up. I can see that the butterfly is opening up wide with the throttle cable.
AnswerHI GARY
THIS IS MY 1ST THOUGHT
CHECK THAT MUFFLER EXIT IS NOT BLOCKED OR JUST REMOVE IT AS A TEST
IF THE ENGINE NOW REVS EITHER MUFFLER CLOGGED WITH CARBON OR
CHECK THE EX PORT MY BE RESTRICTED - MAY NEED TO DECARBONIZE EX PORT IF IT IS CLOGGED
ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN USING 25:1 FUEL / OIL MIX
IF EXHAUST CANNOT EXIT , FUEL CANNOT ENTER PROPERLY
MAKE SURE THAT FUEL FILTER IN TANK IS NOT CLOGGED, AND MIX HAS NO WATER / DEBRIS
I ASSUME COMPRESSION AND SPARK ARE GOOD FROM THE FACT THAT IT STARTS EASILY BUT WONT REV
IF ALL THOSE ITEMS ARE OK , MIGHT PAY TO CHECK CARBY HI AND LO SETTINGS
LOW SETTING SHOULD BE 1- 1/4 TURN OUT FROM LIGHTLY SEATED AND ALSO THE HI SETTING AS WELL
THIS IS A BASE SETTING AND THE FINAL HI SPEED IS DONE AT REV AND IS USUALLY ABOUT 1-1/8 TURN OUT TO 1- 1/2 TURN OUT
MAKE SURE THAT THE CARB MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE TIGHT AS WELL AS THE BARRELL TO C/CASE BOLTS
CHEERS HAVE LOOK AND LET ME KNOW
