Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): CRAFTSMAN W/B&S, spec numbers, mowe

MY SISTER HAS A CRAFTSMAN 44",4 CYCLE, 2 CYLINDER RIDER.  THE BATTERY WILL NOT STAY CHARGED. NEW BATTERY,& STARTER.  SHE EVEN PUT A CAR BATTERY ON IT AND IT STILL DRAINS.  ANY ANSWER WOULD BE APPREICATED AS THERE IS STILL ALOT OF LIFE LEFT IN THE MOWE.

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Stator/Charging Coils or the Voltage Regulator (if Applicable) has Shorted and Require Replacing.
>>The Stator/Charging Coils are Located Under the Flywheel of the Engine and the Regulator is Usually Bolted to the Outside of the Blower Housing.
>>Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine and/or the Unit/Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The Unit/Mower Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker on the Body of the Mower.
