Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Small Engine, bolt size, engine shaft

Question
A bolt broke off that connected the pto to the engine shaft. The engine is a Tecumseh ov490ea. I extracted the damaged bolt but some of the threads in the shaft was damaged.The bolt that they gave me to replace it was 10mm 1.25 thread but doesn't seem to fit.What size tap would I use to repair the thread.

THE  BOLT SIZE  SHOULD BE  7/16-20 UNF  SHOULD BE GRADE 8.8 OR HIGHER  ( HI TENSILE BOLT )
THREAD DEEPTH IS   1.06 INCH DEEP ( OR 26.90 MM DEEP )
 USE BOLT OF THIS SIZE   AND CLEAN UP  INTERNAL THREAD  WITH  7/16-20  UNF TAPER TAP 1ST THEN PLUG TYPE TAP  TO GETT RIGHT TO BOTTOM  

USE BOLT LENGTH  SAME AS WHAT WAS REMOVED JUST  7/16-20 UNF  TYPE THREAD
