QuestionI have a rototiller with a 6HP OHV Briggs and Stratton motor. I had to clean out the carb this spring and it idles fine, however when I put a load on the motor, the governor moves and stalls the motor. Any suggestions?
AnswerHI GREG
SOUNDS LIKE THE MAIN JET OR EMULSION TUBE AND AIR BLEEDS ARE BLOCKED RECHECK CARB & ALL JETS USING CRC AND BLOW COMPRESSED AIR THROUGH THEM AND SEE IF CRC COMES OUT THROUGH JETS AND OPENINGS - CHECK FOR STUCK / STICKING FUEL NEEDLE VALVE
CHECK VALVE CLEARANCE TRY CHECKING / SETTING TO .004 " INLET AND 0.006" EXHAUST
IS FUEL FLOW GOOD FROM TANK TO CARB?
IS FLOAT BOWL CONTINUALLY FUEL OF FUEL ?
IS BOWL VENT CLEAR ?
IS SPARK CONSISTANT UNDER LOAD ?
IS COMPRESSION OK ?
IS TIMMING KEY OK NOT SHEARD OR BENT ?
GIVE IT A TRY AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND
CHEERS HOPE IT HELPS
