AnswerHI ERIC
REMOVE REAR ENGINE COVER 2 X SCREWS,REMOVE THROTLE WIRE CLAMP @ L/H SIDE OF ENGINE ,UNDO CLAMP AT FRONT OF ENGINE FOR BOOM - REMOVE BOOM FROM COVER , UNDO 4 BOLTS SECURING COVER TO POWER HEAD , REMOVE 3 X SCREWS THAT RETAIN PULLEY INSIDE COVER - REMOVE PULLEY ( LEAVE THE SPRING AND ITS CONTAINER IN PLACE) GET YOUR NEW PULLEY INSERT A NEW ROPE USE ABOUT 3.0 - 3.5 MM THICK CORD AND ABOUT 0.8 METER LONG ( 2.5FT APPROX ) BURN 1 END WITH A LIGHTER AND FIT IT THROUGH
HOLE IN BETWEEN THE PULLEY SIDES AND TIE THE END OFF IN A GOOD KNOTT AND LOCATE IT IN THE RECESS IN THE FLAT SIDE OF THE PULLEY ( MAKE SURE STARTER PAWLS AND SPRINGS ARE FREE )
NOW ROTATE THE ROPE CLOCKWISE AROUND THE PULLEY UNTIL YOU CAN ENGAGE IT INTO THE SLOT IN THE SIDE OF THE THE PULLEY & REFIT THE PULLEY BACK INTO TO COVER MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ENGAGED THE STARTER SPRING ONTO ITS RETAINER ON THE PULLEY ,
NOW WHILE HOLDING THE COVER AND PULLEY IN AND MAKING SURE IT DOES NOT COME OUT WHILE YOU RETENTION THE SPRING WIND THE PULLEY AND SPRING IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION UNTIL THE SPRING IS TIGHT THEN BACK IT OFF 1 TURN AND THEN FEED THE REST OF THE STARTER ROPE THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE STARTER COVER ( DO NOT LET THE PULLEY OR SPRING COME OUT ) HAVE SOME ONE HOLD IT FOR YOUR YOU WHILE YOU REFIT THE RETAINER PLATE WITH THE 3 SCREWS YOU REMOVED WHEN YOU TOOK OUT THE PULLEY
DO NOT LET THE STARTER ROPE GO - REFIT YOUR STARTER KNOB AND TIE IT OFF IN A LOOSE KNOTT
( SO YOU CAN SHORTEN IT EASILY LATER IF YOU HAVE TO )
NOW YOU CAN REFIT THE FRONT COVER TO POWER HEAD, WITH 3 SCREWS AND THE THROTTLE CABLE CLAMP BRACKET WITH 1 SCREW, THEN REFIT THE REAR COVER WITH 2 SCREWS
REFIT THE BOOM TO POWER HEAD AND MAKE SURE INTERNAL SHAFT HAS ENGAGED THE DRIVER / COUPLING
CLAMP IT UP
TEST UNIT THEN IF YOU NEED TO YOU CAN SHORTEN THE ROPE LENGTH BY PULLING IT OUT AS MUCH AS YOU NEED TO THEN RE-TYING IT OFF @ THE KNOB AGAIN ( DO NOT LET CORD GO OR YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL IT APART AGAIN ) SORRY
