QuestionI have a Homelite chainsaw Model UT 10617 with a sixteen inch bar. The unit is red. No manual and I can't seem to get a straight answer on the correct oil/gas mixture ratio. I'm guessing 40:1 would suffice. What's your opinion? Thanks!
AnswerHi ED
HOMELITE MODEL UT10617 IF USING GOOD QUALITY 2 STROKE OIL IE STHIL , HUSQVARNA, JONSERED, OLEO MAC BRANDED OIL YOU USE RATIO AS ON THE BOTTLE WHICH IS 50:1 IE 20 MILS OF OIL FOR EVERY 1.0 LITRE OF PETROL YOU MIX
SO ON A IE 3 LITRE MIX YOU WOULD USE 60 MILS OF OIL IN CONTAINER 1ST THEN PUT IN 3 LITRES OF PETROL ONLY THIS GIVES RATIO OF 50:1
40:1 IS 25 MILS OF OIL PER LITRE AND IS OK
BUT IF CANNOT GET YOUR HANDS ON GOOD QUALITY CHAINSAW 2 STROKE OIL BETTER TO USE 25:1
25:1 IS 40 MILS OF OIL PER LITRE
MODERN CHAINSAWS DONT NEED THE EXTRA OIL IN THE MIX , IT MAKES THEM COKE UP QUICKER AND IF A EXCESS OF OIL IN MIX IS USED CAN ACTUALLY MAKE THEM RUN LEANER AND SO CAN STALE FUEL
ALLWAYS USE USE FRESH MIX AND GOOD QAULITY OIL
