Questionthe carb on my toro snowblower just started leaking. Engine is tecumseh HSK635. Fuel appears to fill the bowl and continue filling the whole carb and then drips out. I took the carb apart but nothing seems obviously broken. Could the float be bad? Should i replace the whole carb or just rebuild it?
Thanks.

SOUNDS LIKE THE FUEL NEEDLE VALVE MAY NOT BE SEALING ON ITS SEAT PROPERLY OR THE FLOAT HAS A HOLE IN IT - TO CHECK THIS REMOVE FLOAT AND GIVE IT A SHAKE YOU WILL SOON HEAR ANY FUEL INSIDE IT AND IT WILL FEEL A BIT ON THE HEAY SIDE INSTEAD OF FLOATING ON THE TOP OF FUEL IT MAY BE REMAINING PARTIALLY SUNK AND NEVER REALLY SHUTS OFF THE FUEL FLOW THROUGH FUEL NEEDLE / SEAT
MAKE SURE SEAT AND NEEDLE ARE GOOD NO GROOVE ON THE FUEL NEEDLE TIP IF THEY ARE
MIGHT PAY TO GET NEW FLOAT AND NEEDLE AND SEAT IF CARBY CHECKS OUT AS CLEAR AND NO WORN THROTTLE SHAFTS ETC AND BOWL VENT IS CLEAR
CHECK THAT NO DEBRIS COMMING THROUGH FROM THE TANK TO CARBY AND THE TAG / RETAINER IS CLIPPED ON THE NEEDLE AND IS OTHER END IS HOOKED OVER TANG ON THE FLOAT AND THE FLOAT IS SET RIGHT
USE 11/64 DRILL BIT TO SET FLOAT LEVEL - NO FLOAT BOWL GASKET ON WHILE YOU DO THIS
PUT DRILL BIT DIRECTLY OPPOSITE HINGE OIN AND ADJUST FLOAT TANG SO THAT FLOAT ONLY JUST RESTS ON DRILL BIT ( DO NOT FORCE ), REFIT BOWL GASKET AND BOWL WITH BOWL NUT / JET
HOPE THIS HELPS CHEERS PAUL
