QuestionI have a Scott bonner "diplomat" cylinder self drive mower with a B & S 2.5hp. 4 stroke 3,600rpm. engine, but no model, type or code, on it, the label says the info is in the manual, but I need the info. to get a manual. can you help please.

The last link has the model breakout. Your 2.5 HP is either an antique engine or it is a 6 or 8 cubic inch block. 9 cubic inch blocks are typically rated at 3 to 3.5 HP.
You can get a very close idea of the model number using the breakout. Most owener's manuals will cover a lot of model and type numbers for 2.5 HP engines.
The top link is the antique engine link. You can also take a picture of the engine and either post it to this site or send in to Briggs customer service...it's a fun challenge trying to identify old engine model numbers.
