I have a brand new 24" Craftsman snow blower Model 247.88955.  It runs very rough.  Just started it for the first time today, it idles ok but when I engage it it really drags and backfires.  I don't know a lot about engines but i do know that this needs a carburetor adjustment.  can you please give me some direction

Non-adjustable carburetor.  If it is brand new is it covered under warranty?  Old fuel, water in fuel and/or dirty carb is not covered under warranty.  However, valve adjustment should be covered under warranty.

I suspect the problem is carburetor related but if it is brand new you could void the warranty if you work on the blower yourself.
