Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): engine electricity, hp engine, harbor freight

Question
I have a 6.5 hp engine from harbor freight. I've seen minibikes that have lights wired directly to the engine. Can i hook lights(like the ones in the link below) up to my engine for use on my go kart?

Do you have a charging coil on the engine?  If its an engine with a recoil start then the answer is no.  If its an electric start it may be possible, but most engines that are equipped to produce electricity have a special flywheel and charging coils-(alternator) to give you power to make your light work.
