QuestionQUESTION: I just picked up a used Ariens with a 8 HP Tecsumeh engine, it is a H30 series. Everything runs fine, except once it is running, if I drop the throttle all the way down to "stop", it idles very low buy does not quit. The only way I can kill the engine is to pull the spark plug wire off, or pull the choke out and flood the engine. Can I adjust the throttle for the low end so when I drop it all the way down, it kills the engine?
ANSWER: John.
There should be a big red plastic key. Pull this out to stop your engine.

QUESTION: Yeah, I see that online, but mine does not have an ignition key anywhere.

when you move the throttle all the way to slow there should be a electrical connection that comes in contact with the speed control lever. make sure this makes connection.
Is there a wire that leads from it going inside the engine?
If this doesn't work please e-mail me a digital picture of the control so i can help you further
