Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler Courage SV470-610, fuel starvation, gas filter

Troybilt riding mower with Kohler Courage engine will start but dies after about 30 seconds.  Does this repeatedly.  Have changed gas, checked air filter and gas filter.  Thanks for your help.

it sounds like you have a fuel starvation of some sort.  

Try it with the choke on part way,  Does it continue to run at this point?  If so i would say a thorough cleaning of the carb or carb replacement is in order here.

Also make sure your fuel pump is pumping fuel to the carb by removing the hose that goes to the carb and crank the engine over a bit do you have a continuous stream of fuel?
