Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Loncin Engine Quality, vertical shaft, quality reliability
QuestionHi,
We are looking at a replacement engine for our ride on after our current B&S 11.5HP engine recently seized (told not worth fixing). Looking into our options, we have seen 16HP Loncin engines which are cheaper than a 13.5HP B&S 'psuedo direct replacement'. Wondering your thoughts on Loncin quality & reliability vs the B&S?? Many thanks,
Matt
AnswerLONCIN is TOP QUALITY! I give it a PERFECT SCORE!!!! You will not go wrong with a Loncin Engine. I have one on my personal mower and have extensively tested tier engines in the past.
The only downside of Loncin Engines is the availability of replacement parts, (at least here in USA) BUT they are available if you know where to look for them.
Many service dealers don't like to work on them, only because they are afraid of the unknown.
When it comes to Vertical Shaft Engines, LONCIN is the leader in development and quality control.
