Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Push mower shuts off immediately after start, poor storage, push mower

I have a new B&S push mower engine with pull rope.  Prime engine with primer bulb and it starts up but immediately shuts off like it's not getting fuel.  If I prime and start and keep pumping primer bulb it keeps running.  What coudl the problem be?  Thanks for the help.

You have a carburetor problem.  Exactly what problem will depend on the engine you have, but for a new mower, I wouldn't advise you work on it yourself.  That would void the warranty.  Probably there's a little bit of dirt in the wrong place, either from the factory start-up or from poor storage before it was sold to you.  But there also could be a faulty part that was installed, or even a part missing.  Thanks, PK.
