Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mower Engine shuts off, push mower, carburetor

I have a B&S push mower engine with pull rope.  Prime engine with primer bulb and it starts up but immediately shuts off like it's not getting fuel.  If I prime and start and keep pumping primer bulb it keeps running.  Any thoughts on what the problem might be?  Thanks for the help.

Yes,your carburetor is plugged up! I would take it apart and thoroughly  clean all jets? Bowl,etc.Has it sat awhile? Gas has a tendency to gel up if it sits too long.Especially inside those little components of a carburetor!Well I hope this helps,
