Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mtd 22 push mower, engine model type, push mower

My mower Runs or idles low.  I can reach down and move the lever and it will run faster, but when i release it it goes back to slow speed.  Is this a idle adjustment problem, and if it is how do i go about it? Thanks

Is the governor spring stretched?

Send me the mower model number located on the MTD sticker.  The sticker is about the size of a business card and the format is similar to xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Also need the engine model, type and code number to look up your carb.  Engine model number is located/stamped on the engine.
