saw was running good then started booging added gas still same. dumped gas put in new plug then i messed with H L screws know it starts wants to run for a moment then stops.cleaned air filter.may need points.if there are points

Most likely the carburetor needs to be rebuilt.

This to check before the carb:  Is the muffler spark arrestor plugged with carbon deposits?  Regardless, clean the muffler spark arrestor.

Check the compression with a compression gauge.  Need at least 125 PSI.

Do you have a Walbro carburetor on your saw?
