Should I get any spark no matter how far the air gap is set at?and what is the gap to it.Model No.143 436042 ser.3174

.010-.012 should be the air gap.  If you do not have spark dis-connect the small wire on the bottom of the coil.  Test for spark.


If you have spark with the small wire dis-connected then the coil is good and you have a safety switch problem.
