QuestionHave a Weedeater lawnomwer with a Briggs & Stratton engine. Thsi is a 22" Side Discharge Push Mulching Mower, 500 Series Briggs & Stratton engine, 158 cc, 5.0 ft. lb torque; model # 10T502-3764-B1, date of 07022754. Have to replace both the Governor Spring & Governor Idle spring. I have the manual but it doesn't specify exactly where to place these springs for it to run properly. A local guy only attached 1 spring (said he didn't know why I needed 2??). It runs at a very low rpm and is not mulching right - leaves big traisl of grass alongside as I mow.

Both ends are hooked into the loop of the governor-rod end connected to the governor-fan end.
The opposite free ends of the springs for example the idle or smaller-spring is pushed through the slit-hole of a upright piece of metal facing the spring itself where it hooks-in.
The governor-spring or larger-one loops into a larger hole that is laying-down beside the smaller-one!
I don't have any mowers in the shop with a governed idle right now or I would take a picture. Have you check the message boards or posted a question for some to post a picture?
