Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler Runs Only When Choked, kohler command, carburetors

Hello,
I have a Kohler Command 14 HP.  It will only run with the choke closed almost all the way. It's a used carb off another Kohler 14 (mine caught on fire last time it ran...).  I cleaned it before it was installed.  Perhaps it needs a better cleaning and/or adjustment?

A good rebuild might fix you up.  I've actually taken to replacing these carburetors most of the time but if you have a soak can for carburetors you may be able to clean it thoroughly.  The emissions carburetors are very problematic about a little dirt in the wrong place.  If you open it and there's any corrosion, then I would replace it.  There's probably no adjustment to be made.  Thanks, PK.
