QuestionJohn, My Homelite chainsaw (UT 10830) chain oiler is not working and it leaks oil even when the saw is not running. I need to remove the engine to clean the unit and work on the oil pump but need assistance with
the centrifugal clutch removal. I assume there is a tool for this but my local Homelite service center would not tell me how to do it or where to get the tool. I have the engine schematic already, just need some assistance with getting the clutch removed.
Answer
clutch
I am sure Homelite makes a tool for it, and those guys likely don't have it. To remove a clutch like yours, I use a large pin punch and find a solid point on the clutch and hit is sharply with a hammer,
and with a few blows it will spin off, I do the same back on.
Leave the plug in for some resistance, and it goes clockwise to
come off.
