Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Tractor wont start, drive pulley, luck dave
QuestionMy son was cutting the grass with our Scott S2546 lawn tractor and he went threw a large clump of grass and the mower choke out. Now it won't start. The starter won't engage. When you turn the ignition switch you can hear a clicking on the engine. What do you think is wrong?
AnswerVincent,
IT sounds like something may be lodged against the drive pulley preventing the engine to turn over.
you may have to remove your deck, but look underneath the engine and see if there is anything lodged between the belt and the pulley.
Sometimes sticks, rocks etc get lodged in between there.
Good Luck
