QuestionQUESTION: I have a Montgomery wards Electric start Transaxle 10 HP model # TMO 33860A D230B. The cut is 38" I need to replace the belt because the belt is slipping. If there is a way to adjust the belt pulleys, I did not see how to do it. If I can't adjust the belt I need to know where to buy one. the belt is 40" X 1/2" is my best guess. Also does the Model Number I gave you give the year it was built and the Manufacture. Thank you. Ron
ANSWER: Ron....
If memory serves me correctly this is a Murray tractor that was private labeled for Montgomery Wards. The model number does tell the year it was manufactured, but i don't have the Murray microfiche to look it up. If you give me the model, type and code of the engine I can most likely give you this information.
There is no way to adjust the belt pulleys.
If this is not a Murray product it will be an MTD. Its been many years ago since i worked on one of these..I'm getting old...
Good Luck

QUESTION: Dave: The model # is as follows as I stated in my first iquiry. TMO 33860A D230B. Tks.
Ron
AnswerRon:
I need the MODEL TYPE and CODE number off the engine, not off the tractor. This number will be stamped in the engine cover most likely near the spark plug or may even be riveted on. It will look something like this: MODEL 252707 Type 0136-01 Code 78032501
Sometimes its hard to see them, but they are there.
Thanks
