i CHANGED THE MOWING BELT AND THE MOWER IS STAYING ENGAGED. iS THERE A SPRING THAT i MIGHT HAVE MISSED PLACED THAT STOPS THE MOWER FROM ENGAGING.

Hi Ashleigh, if you are certain that you routed the belt correctly, on the correct sides of the idler pulleys, then you likely do have an adjustment needed. On most mowing decks there is a slight adjustment that can be made. However without knowing exactly which mower model you have, I am unable to advise to specifics.
