Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): riding tractor engine comparison, briggs and stratton, engine comparison

I am looking for your opinion on which of the following two engines are better built, more durable and less problematic, the Kohler Courage V-twin vs. the Briggs and Stratton Vanguard V-twin.

I think they're pretty much equal.  The Briggs parts are usually a little cheaper by a couple of dollars.  Either of them will do a good job as long as they're kept clean, have the oil and all filters changed regularly and the maintenance schedules are followed.  

I wouldn't use either commercially.  For that I prefer Kawasaki's and Honda's engines.
