how do you set the valves? what are clearances to be and which is intake/exhaust when looking at rocker arms/push rods?

Answer
The valve lash should be .004 on both intake and exhaust, look at the muffler an where it bolts, and follow the port behind it to the top or bottom, and that will be the exhaust, and the same for the carb.

Going by my poor memory, it should be the valve on the bottom, but my memory is poor.
