Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): riding mower cuts off when i release clutch, sears craftsman seat switch

I have a craftsman riding mower 19hp turbo twin  cylinder model# 917270770 it cuts off when i release the clutch or engage blades

You probably have a bad seat switch.  Under the seat you'll see a pressure style switch.  Make sure the wires are connected to it and the connector is clean.  If so, then you'll need to replace it.

It's Electrolux/AYP part number 121305x and I have it listed for $8.89 which is about average I think.
